Shoals Symphony At Una To Present Cinema Paradiso

FLORENCE, Ala. - The Shoals Symphony at UNA will present Cinema Paradiso, the fourth concert of the 2014-2015 season, this Sunday, March 1, at 2 p.m., in Norton Auditorium.
The concert, which promises to become a crowd favorite, will bring Hollywood to the Shoals with scores and video clips from blockbuster movies.
"Cinema Paradiso will be a concert for the entire family, with thrilling movie-music selections performed by the Shoals Symphony at UNA.These soundtracks have become the music of our lives, as we enjoy selections from 'The Magnificent Seven' and 'Chicago,' to 'Star Wars' and 'Harry Potter,'" said Dr. Daniel Stevens, artistic director and conductor of the Shoals Symphony at UNA.
In keeping with the Hollywood feel, each selection will be given an Oscar-worthy introduction.
"I am honored to have faculty and staff from across the University of North Alabama community introduce our concert selections," said Stevens."While the Shoals Symphony at UNA performs each of these pieces, clips or stills from the movie will appear on stage."
